City of Sadat, Egypt

Sadat City in Egypt is a markaz located in the northern part of the country. The city has its name after the assassinated former president of Egypt, Anwar Sadat. Sadat city is located at a distance of 94 km towards the north-west of Cairo and lies in the Menoufia Governorate. Sadat is even renowned as one of the largest industrial cities in Egypt. Why was Sadat Established?

Sadat City is among one city that was established by the Urban Communities Authority for preserving agricultural lands and preventing them from decaying the act of the urban sprawl and also for reconstructing the desert region located around the Delta. Another reason for its establishment was for disrupting the steady population density which causes a burden of the Delta Governorates, this even helped the many inhabitants here with new work opportunities and housing prospects.


Location of Sadat

Sadat city is situated in the north-west of the Cairo city on the Alex Desert Road. The distinguished location of the city is due to the regional network that connects the place with the Central Delta Governorates along with the capital city too. The total area which the city covers is of 500 square km and the mass populated area is of 73 sq km. The large green area of the city expands to a larger part and covers thousands of acres which are irrigated by the most modern irrigation methods. The area is divided as 28 thousand acres of land area is given to investors for growing conventional crops, 2000 acres land area is for city farm which lays amid the city entrances and 3000 acres land area is preserved for being used as food supply area.

There are many levels constituting the same which are above average housing, distinguished housing, low cost housing and economy housing alongside National housing. In addition there is a Mubarak National Youth Housing where in an area of 20 m2, 140 housing units were constructed. Also, there is a future housing project, a leading venture that pictures the deepest social solidarity and is managed by capable businessmen who together wished to establish an adequate housing system. The project comprises of an area of 63 m2 and 1011 housing units.

At Sadat the city has a well-connected network for both inside the city and with outside places. The city can be reached easily due to its connection with the many famous roads in Egypt. The city is connected to the Regional Road that connects Sadat with Delta Governorates via the Sadat Bridge and the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road. The internal road network is also well maintained to ensure easy movement. There are regular buses from Sadat till Cairo and Delta governorates and to serve more efficiently two bus stations and microbus stations are present in the city.
