Our son is currently serving as a Major in Sinai for the New Zealand contingent (Engineer) so he is going to be our guide. I found this by accident when I could not sleep one night. I am coming to Egypt on a cruise in two weeks. Your information is invaluable and I am so glad I found it before I traveled I will recommend to friends. i have worked with a few Egyptian doctors here in our NHS and they have been charming and have such wonderful grace and charm. I feel a bit embarrassed by our brisk and unfriendly manner some of the time. Hi, I am Chinese and now I am studying in Norway. Your website is great!!! But one thing I feel not sure, that is the visa to Egypt. As to your page here, I can buy the visa stamp at the airport, because China is not on that list with countries which are required to apply before departure. I consulted the Egyptian Embassy in Norway, their answer was "I can't do that". But when I asked them why and told them one of my Chinese friend, who went to Egypt from Poland, did that before, the Embassy just did not reply. I really want to make sure of that. Since I need to travel quite a bit, I just want to keep my passport with me all the time instead of posting them to here and there. We have just spent our honeymoon on a cruise between Luxor and Aswan on the MS Nile Treasure and consider ourselves

very lucky to have been in the group to which Aladdin was the guide.

ever since I can remember I really do have a keen interest for Egypt and for all things ancient but im not that

gifted with enough finances to tour your wonderful country i'm still saving enough money to do that, having worked

with mostly guy Egyptians in abu dhabi for more than 2 years and having 1 lucky Egyptian guy as my fiance'it sparked

my interest doubly! I've really set my mind on visiting your country and meeting my boyfriends' family. he invited

me to come and im more than happy to go..he wants us to get married in Cairo, his home city hence this research about

egypt and the search engine led me to your website! now my question is what type of visa will i apply when i go there?

it says here i need a pre-departure visa because my country, the Philippines is listed as such. also, are marriage

contracts done there legal and binding in all countries? how will i know im being duped by my fiance' (i hope not!)

how will i know he's not previously married to another person? if i come to Egypt on a tourist visa and then get

married to an egyptian, will the government require me to change my visa status from tourist to residence?

well that's it for now i hope you could recommend another website for this questions a govt. website perhaps

because i know my questions are not travel related anymore... but if you know the answers, well then double

Dear Alladin,
My wife insisted we go to Egypt next year ( July 2006) I was a little worried ( heat/food/health etc). We normally holiday in Austria

but having read through your web site I must admit I cannot wait to go, in fact I wish now we had booked for this year, never mind,

I love this site its really awesome. but i think that there is come things missing like certain things not to give people

I bookmarked your site and read a couple of parts weeks ago. Now we're leaving in 2 days for Egypt and I'm

revisiting your site.  It is so well written and complete. I've done an enormous amount of reading over

4 months and could have skipped much of it if I had read your descriptions!  Well-done.
One possible addition: some useful phrases in Egyptian Arabic, transliterated for English speakers, along with

the Arabic counterparts, in case we have to point instead of say a word!
