Egypt has always been closely associated with art and culture. The BBC television program Egypt Drama was launched in order to showcase that rich history and aired beginning in 2005.
The show illustrated the many discoveries that shaped the rich, golden history of Egypt and featured many flashback scenes showcasing the ancient Egyptians. The show ran for an hour every Sunday night at 9 pm starting in 2005. The initial two episodes of this drama series portrayed the work of the archeologist Howard Carter and his archeological journey in Egypt during the early 20th century eventually resulting in the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb. The following two episodes covered the famous explorer Belzoni who was played by the actor Matthew Kelly. The last two episodes of the series focused on dramatizing the discovery and deciphering of the famous Rosetta stone in Egypt.
Egypt Drama was written by Ferdinand Fairfax and directed by Jonathan Rich, Tony Mulholland, and Ferdinand Fairfax. The major stars in it were Stuart Graham, Matthew Kelly and Elliot Cowan. The music was recorded by the Warsaw Radio Orchestra and is featured on the CD Timeless Histories by Chappell music, produced by Clare Isaacs. The original release of the Egypt drama was from 30 October –4 December 2005.
Egypt Drama is a wonderful program to check out for everyone who is interested in the fascinating history of Egypt but may not have a chance to visit in person yet. It will make you want to visit as soon as possible.
