After breakfast, you will be taken to see the magnificent Luxor Temple. Initially built by Amenhotep III it was later increased in size by Ramses II with more parts added by later pharaohs. The present sanctuary was added by Alexander the Great. Then you will go the northern part of the city to see the enormous Temple of Karnak: the largest temple complex in the world! Within its 20 metre high wall you could fit all of Europe’s significant cathedrals into it, with space left over. The Hypostyle hall alone could easily hold Notre Dame or St. Paul's Cathedral.
Once your visit to these ancient Theban Temples is over we will visit the West Bank of Luxor to see the tombs of the New Kingdom Pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings. The magnificent temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El-Bahri is another exciting stop on this tour, finishing with the immense Colossi of Memnon. After lunch, you will visit the Theban “City of the Dead” and be taken back to your hotel.
