Day 1- Monday : Esna
Once you land at Luxor airport or reach Luxor train station, your tour coordinator from Luxor And Aswan Tours will greet you and provide assistance. An Egyptologist guide will then accompany you on your Esna exploration. Esna, a bustling trade hub, is widely recognized for its quaint Temple of Khnum, nestled 9 meters beneath the city streets. Your journey commences with a short walk towards the temple, followed by a leisurely amble through lanes brimming with exquisite fabrics and an array of unique commodities. You'll spend the night in Esna.
Meals Day 2- Tuesday : El Kab & Efdu
our course is smoothly set towards El Kab, nestled on the eastern shores of the Nile. This was once the thriving heart of Upper Egypt and continues to house the sacred temple of Nekhbet and a captivating line of ornately adorned tombs etched into the mountainous terrain. Upon anchoring, a picturesque stroll through a quaint fishing village paves the way to the necropolis. In the afternoon, our vessel docks at Edfu, the dwelling place of a Greco-Roman temple, devoted to the deity Horus. This stands as one of the most impeccably preserved temples across Egypt. A horse-drawn carriage escorts you through the bustling city streets to this temple. Post your return to the boat, we cast off towards an enchanting island.
Meals Day 3- Wednesday: Sail & Swim
The day is dedicated to the river. Following an optional early morning walk and breakfast, you'll embark on your journey. During the afternoon, there will be a pause at an island where you can explore or take a dip in the Nile. As evening approaches, you might have the chance to venture into the desert via a valley adorned with boulders bearing ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and stone-age scribbles. These symbols signify the start of the shortest route across the desert to Libya, a 28-day journey in antiquity. When night falls, the boat will anchor at the base of the illuminated Gebel Silsileh temple.
Meals Day 4- Thursday : Gebel Silsileh
The Nile is confined between two mountain ranges, marking its slimmest point. It's a captivating place where you'll often find yourself the sole visitor since large Nile cruise boats are prohibited from docking. After exploring the compact temple of Horemheb and traversing the sandstone quarries - the very place where ancient Egyptians sourced the stone for their most renowned temples, your journey continues to a charming café. Here you can relish tea and shisha (waterpipe). Your adventure doesn't end there, as you'll sail to a scenic riverside spot for a refreshing lunch and swimming break.
Meals Day 5- Friday : Kom Ombo
Upon spending an evening out at sea and under the starlit sky, you'll embark on a morning journey to the quaint town and historic temple of Kom Ombo. This monument, constructed during the Ptolemaic era, was erected on the foundations of a more ancient shrine and is positioned in one of the most picturesque spots, on a river bend. It was specifically devoted to Sobek, the deity depicted with a crocodile's head. After soaking in the beauty of the temple, your itinerary will include a visit to the recently established Crocodile Museum. This museum houses numerous mummified crocodiles, underscoring the significant role these creatures held in this area during antiquity.
Meals Day 6- Saturday : Aswan
Enjoy your morning meal on your Dahabiya Nile vessel, after which we will escort you to the Aswan airport or Aswan train station for your concluding departure.
