Day 1- Monday / Esna
Upon reaching Luxor airport or Luxor train station, your tour manager from Luxor And Aswan Tours will greet and assist you. Following that, your Egyptologist guide will lead you on a tour of Esna. Esna, a bustling trade town, is renowned for the petite but ancient Temple of Khnum, positioned 9 meters beneath the street level. Your journey starts with a short walk to this temple and a wander through lanes brimming with stunning textiles and other intriguing items. You will spend the night in Esna, aboard your Nile boat.
Meals Day 2- Tuesday / El kab & Edfu
we smoothly navigate towards El Kab, previously known as the epicenter of Upper Egypt, positioned on the Nile's Eastern flank. This historic location continues to house Nekhbet's temple and a sequence of intriguingly adorned tombs etched into the mountain's incline. Once the boat anchors, you'll embark on a scenic stroll through a quaint fishing hamlet to explore the necropolis. By afternoon, our vessel will reach Edfu, the location of a Greco-Roman shrine dedicated to the deity Horus. This site is among the most well-preserved Egyptian temples. A horse-drawn carriage will guide you through the bustling city streets to the temple. Upon your return to the boat, we'll set course for a picturesque island.
Meals Day 3- Wednesday / Sail & Swim
This day is dedicated to the river. Following an optional early morning stroll and breakfast, you'll embark on a journey by boat. In the afternoon, there's a halt at an island where you can choose to take a walk or dip into the waters of the Nile. As evening approaches, a chance may arise to venture into the desert via a valley dotted with boulders bearing ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and stone-age carvings. These symbols signify the start of the quickest route through the desert to Libya, a journey that took 28 days in ancient times. As night falls, the boat anchors at the base of the illuminated temple of Gebel Silsileh.
Meals Day 4- Thursday / Gebel Silsileh
At this point, the Nile, hemmed in by twin mountain ranges, is at its slimmest. Often, you'll find yourselves the sole explorers of this captivating location, since large Nile cruisers are not permitted to halt here. Post visiting Horemheb's quaint temple and traversing the sandstone quarries, which were the source of stones for numerous renowned Egyptian temples, you'll find respite in a charming café where tea and shisha (waterpipe) can be enjoyed. Following this, you'll set sail to a scenic riverside spot designated for lunch and a swim.
Meals Day 5- Friday / Kom Ombo
Having spent the night under the starlit sky and out on the water, your morning journey will lead you to the temple and town of Kom Ombo. Constructed during the Ptolemaic era on an older temple's site, this temple boasts one of the most picturesque locations, positioned on a river bend. The temple was a tribute to Sobek, the deity represented with a crocodile head. Post your temple visit, you'll get to explore the newly established Crocodile Museum. A place housing numerous mummified crocodiles, offering proof of the significant role these creatures had in this area during ancient times.
Meals Day 6- Saturday / Aswan
Enjoy your morning meal aboard your Dahabiya Nile vessel, post which you will be escorted to the Aswan airport or Aswan train station for your concluding departure.
