Package Itinerary

Day 1 - Muscat / Sinkhole / Fins Beach / Wadi Shab / Ras Al Hadd

1

The tour starts from Muscat in the morning and heads towards Ras al Hadd. Along the way, we stop at the Bamah sinkhole where tourists can take photos and swim in the sinkhole lake. After that, we visit Fins Beach, a long white beach. Finally, we reach Wadi Shab, a huge canyon gorge with palm trees and signs of the powerful water flow from the mountains. A 45-minute hike through the canyon leads us to a crystal-clear water pool where tourists can swim in warm waters. The last pool has an opening among enormous rocks, leading to a crevice cave with a small waterfall. The sunlight makes the water look turquoise blue while water showers down from the wadi beyond. The tour proceeds towards Ras al Hadd, where an evening visit to the Turtle sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz is scheduled. The refuge offers a guided walking tour on the beach at night, an ideal time to witness Oman's sea turtles coming ashore to build nests and lay eggs under the stars. Moreover, there is a possibility to observe baby turtles hatching from certain nests, if fortunate. The overnight stay is arranged at either Ras al Hadd Hotel or Camp.

Day 2 - Wadi Bani Khalid / Wahiba Sands

The next day's itinerary includes a tour of the City of Sur, which comprises ancient forts and the renowned Arabian Dhow Factory. The factory is famous for its traditional wooden Dhow-building techniques; visitors can observe the process.

Afterward, we will drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman's most extensive and most picturesque Wadis. Visitors can swim, relax, sunbathe, or picnic in the Wadi's scenic canyons.

In the late afternoon, we will proceed to the Wahiba Sands desert campsite, where visitors can either relax or participate in a thrilling 4x4 sand dune drive. The day will culminate with a breathtaking sunset view from one of the big dunes, followed by a romantic campfire dinner at the campsite.

Visitors will spend the night at the desert camp.

Day 4 - Nizwa Misfath

4

We rise early in the morning to visit Nizwa Souq, one of Oman's biggest markets. It opens from 5:00 am to 10:00 am and has a variety of vendors selling fish, meat, vegetables, pottery, jewelry, handicrafts, and souvenirs in traditional market halls. The Friday cattle market is particularly fascinating, as it features a circus-style open market where locals from nearby villages sell their animals. Adjacent to the souq is Nizwa Fortress, now a museum providing panoramic views of the ancient town and surrounding mountains. Visitors can explore the fortress's numerous rooms, passages, and towers, which stand as a testament to the early Yoruba dynasty's economic and military accomplishments in the mid-17th century. The military fortress was constructed to be impervious to attacks, even going so far as to lay traps along the corridors to deter intruders. Moving on from Nizwa, we arrive at the picturesque village of Misfath al Abreen, nestled on a steep slope at the base of Jebel Shams. The town is home to several ancient residences, narrow streets, and an extensive Falaj irrigation system supporting the growth of orchards, date palms, and vegetables. Visitors can easily spend a minimum of 1.5 hours exploring the village and the surrounding area by following marked footpaths. At the next destination, travelers have a choice between two popular tourist attractions in Oman: the Al Hoota Caves, which are among the most extensive cave systems worldwide and are accessed through the Al Hoota cave entrance; or the Jabrin Castle, originally constructed as a royal palace in 1670 and renovated in 1984. The castle features intricate wood carvings, stucco work, period furniture, and utensils. Visitors are welcome to explore the court. The itinerary includes an overnight stay at a hotel in Nizwa.
