Day 1 - Istanbul
Experience the incredible fusion of European and Asian cultures in Istanbul, a city filled with enchanting wonders from ancient times. Upon your arrival, a representative from Ciconia will transport you directly to your hotel. Later in the day, attend a welcome meeting with your Tour Director and fellow travelers in the hotel lobby. Savor the diverse and delectable Turkish cuisine during a group dinner in the evening, and leave some space for the delightful desserts.
Meals Day 2 - Istanbul City Tour
Embark on a trip to the historical center of Istanbul and witness the seamless fusion of old and new. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, take a leisurely walk through the Hippodrome, explore the enchanting Blue Mosque and the enigmatic Cistern Basilica, and savor a sumptuous meal fit for royalty near the majestic Hagia Sophia. Immerse yourself in the local culture by bargaining at the renowned Grand Bazaar and admiring numerous monuments. Later in the day, admire the stunning Bosphorus as you sail between Europe and Asia.
Meals Day 3 - Istanbul – Gallipoli – Canakkale
Following a satisfying breakfast, we embark on a journey to the renowned Gallipoli beaches. While driving through the picturesque countryside, we stop at the charming village of Kesan to relish a delectable meal. Upon reaching Gallipoli in the afternoon, we pay tribute to the courageous Turkish and Australian soldiers who valiantly fought in World War 1, commemorated every April. We explore the verdant battlefields, including the significant historical sites of Anzac Cove, Lone Pine, and Chunuk Bair. Later, we head towards Canakkale, enjoying a scenic ferry ride and ending the day with a delightful dinner and a rejuvenating stay at the hotel.
Meals Day 4 - Canakkale – Troy – Pergamon – Izmir
Get ready for an exciting day full of adventure. Our first stop in the morning will be the ancient city of Troy, where we will explore the ruins of the once-great city that has a significant place in both mythology and history. Don't forget to take a picture with the famous Trojan Horse before we move on to Pergamon. This city is known for its healing waters and the Asklepion medical center ruins, which were one of the most significant healing centers during the Roman era. After a culturally enriching experience, we will take a break in the coastal city of Izmir, where you can indulge in the Turkish seafood culture and raki.
Meals Day 5 - Izmir – Ephesus – Pamukkale
Travel alongside the coastline to reach the impressive ruins of ancient Ephesus, an esteemed World Heritage site recognized by UNESCO. You can leisurely stroll through the exceptionally well-maintained remnants of the old city, including the awe-inspiring library. A quick trip from there takes you to the mountainside house of the Virgin Mary, where it is said she spent her final days. Moving on, we will explore the culinary delights at a delightful countryside eatery famous for its delicious Gozleme. Our journey will continue inland until we reach our destination, the Cotton Castle of Turkey, Pamukkale, where you can take a break, relax, and even indulge in spa or massage treatments offered by your hotel. Your dinner reservation at the hotel restaurant is already secured.
Meals Day 6 - Pamukkale – Fethiye – Konya
Experience the stunning beauty of Pamukkale's shallow pools filled with mineral-rich waters that have healing properties. Admire the snow-white terraces of travertines and immerse yourself in the rich history of the ancient city of Hierapolis. Marvel at the impressive 15,000-seat amphitheater and its incredible acoustics. After exploring, head to Konya, where the famous whirling dervishes of the Sufism order reside. End your day by relishing in the memories of your exciting adventures at dinner in your hotel.
Meals Day 7 - Konya - Cappadocia
Discover the diverse and multifaceted Turkish culture today, beginning your journey at the Karatay Madrasa, an educational center and architectural marvel dating back to the 8th century. Then, move on to the Museum and Mausoleum of Mevlana and delve into the teachings and legacy of the renowned 13th-century scholar, poet, and theologian, whose ideas of understanding and acceptance continue to resonate today. Heading inland, we explore the captivating Cappadocia region, renowned for its surreal landscapes of fairy chimneys and cave dwellings formed from volcanic rocks and tuff. Start your adventure in Avanos, renowned for its exceptional quality clay, and participate in a hands-on pottery-making workshop. Finally, enjoy a relaxing evening at your hotel and join your group for dinner.
Meals Day 8 - Cappadocia
To experience the sunrise from a hot-air balloon and fly over the fairy chimneys is a must-do for all enthusiastic travelers. However, this optional experience is weather-dependent. After landing, visitors have the opportunity to explore the Goreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and witness the impressive underground structures that have housed Christians and Orthodox monks throughout history. Additionally, travelers can visit a carpet-weaving workshop to learn about one of Turkey's oldest crafts. In the evening, visitors can enjoy local cuisine and culture.
Meals Day 9 - Cappadocia - Istanbul ( By Flight)
In the present day, we will travel a brief distance by plane to reach Istanbul. Once you reach your accommodation in Istanbul, you can spend your free time as you, please. In case you want to experience one last cultural excursion, you can consider participating in the optional Turkish Night along with a meal.
Meals Day 10 - Istanbul
We conclude our amazing journey while having breakfast with newly made acquaintances. Don't forget to say goodbye and share contact information before leaving the hotel by 11:00. You can avail of free airport transfers throughout the day and have a secure and hassle-free trip!
